Adele Amaro, M.Ed.

Licensed Professional Counselor

Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile.

As an RGV native, I am completely committed to the mental health and cultural empowerment of all families. After receiving my Bachelor of Arts in English in 2010, I spent the majority of my career in high schools across the valley as a coordinator, educator, and advocate for teenagers and their families. I am a certified school counselor, and have experience with the rapidly growing and challenging expectations set on the shoulders of young people today.

Because of my work with adolescents and what I saw in the classrooms, I was inspired to pursue my Master's in Counseling to further assist this population. I graduated in December 2019 with my Master's in Education, and received my School Counseling license shortly thereafter. With the limitations placed on school counselors today, I made the decision to pursue my license in professional counseling, and now hold my LPC Associate.

During my internship,  I was able to serve my campus with individual and group counseling for students regarding depression, low self-esteem, time and stress management, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and building healthy relationships. My clinical experience at the UTRGV Community Training Clinic, also allowed me to help adults with anger management, parent education, and setting goals or boundaries within their family systems.

I am passionate about the growth of our community in South Texas, whether it’s in education or positive mental health practices, and cannot wait to start your journey alongside you.

In my spare time as a lifelong learner, I enjoy reading fiction (or listening to audiobooks on my commute), singing loudly in my car, and spending time with my husband and two cats and dogs.
