Hi, my name is Ashley Mendoza. You have taken the first step in your therapeutic journey. Thank you for visiting my profile.

You are unique, and your experiences matter. My aim is to help my clients see the the best version of themselves. Mental and emotional health is important but often times overlooked. I believe our body is one big machine strongly connected. If one part of the machine isn't working it will interfere with the other parts of the machine. Trauma impacts the mind, body, soul and spirit. That's why my goal is to provide my clients with a safe space - through compassion and patience - in order to learn about themselves. In addition, I am culturally sensitive, honest, trusting and understanding in my work with clients. I have really learned to appreciate the value of culture, life experiences and acceptance through living in different places. I was raised in St. Louis, Missouri and born in Oklahoma. I lived in Kansas City, Missouri for 13 years. In 2016, I moved to San Antonio, Texas where I later graduated with my Master's in Clinical Mental Health, from Capella University.

Prior to this, I also served in the United States Army for 18 years. Participating in the military sexual harassment assault response program gave me the experience and training to work with people impacted by sexual trauma. I also provided training to servicemembers through a program called Master Resiliency, which helps develop mental agility. Through this training, soldiers learned to strengthen their character, understand their thoughts and emotions and to communicate better. The program also works to remove the stigma mental health has during difficult situations. The military has really allowed me to embrace new experiences and the people along the way. Finally, working with children and parents who have experienced family violence also makes me passionate about the family unit. I have facilitated parenting groups and domestic violence support groups. Completing psychoeducational and processing groups not only offered clients information, but an opportunity to connect with others in similar situations. I aspire to facilitate growth and perspective, in a safe place for your therapeutic journey. I am passionate about seeing people become their best selves!

If you believe I am a good fit for your therapeutic journey, do not hesitate to reach out. I look forward to meeting you, and it will be my pleasure to work with you. Today is a new day.
