Veronica Y. Carranza, M.Ed.
Licensed Professional Counselor - Associate*
Hello! My name is Veronica Carranza and I'm excited to meet you!
I was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley where I attended PSJA ISD, as well as The University of Texas - Pan American.
I believe the best therapeutic relationship is collaborative, built on trust and empathy. I strive to promote independence, and a functional life for all clients in order to reach full potential. I am also dedicated to creating a safe space for you to express your feelings and be heard. Throughout the process, we work together as you identify your strengths and resources for personal growth and healing. Specifically, I am passionate about helping you build your self-esteem, work through anxiety and stress, set appropriate boundaries, and gain self-awareness and acceptance. I also recently completed specialized training to treat sleep problems (CBT for Insomnia). I offer virtual counseling sessions, as well as in office. So pull up a comfy chair and get ready because we are about to change your life for the better!
After undergrad, I earned my Master of Education in Counseling and completed my internship at Our Lady of the Lake University where I gained experience in working with children, adolescents and young adults. I also have experience with working with adults, groups, couples, as well as new moms in their postpartum journey. I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Vanessa Villarreal, LPC-Supervisor. I am also a Certified School Counselor in the state of Texas with over 8 years of teaching experience. In my leisure time, I enjoy swimming, traveling & spending time with my family. I especially enjoy trying new foods.
